Closed loop ground source systems use sealed pipes that are placed either horizontally or vertically in the ground. A glycol solution is pumped through the pipes, asorbing heat as it moves, this heat is then extracted by the heat pump and released at a higher temperature through compression.
Open loop ground source systems take water from aquifers or open bodies of water (ponds, rivers etc). They extract the heat, ageing through compression, and then release the cooled water back into the ground.
We only use quality Ground Source Heat Pumps from Stiebel Eltron or Mitsubishi. We expect our heating systems to last for a minimum of 20 years with little maintenance. Because of this, we don’t skimp on the detail, only using top quality components with the highest standards of engineering.
